Indumati Katdare (born 1949), affectionately known as "Didi" or "Indutai," is a prominent Indian educationist, visionary thinker, public speaker, and dedicated social worker. Born in the Kalol region of Gujarat, India, she completed her master's degree in Sanskrit and English before embarking on her professional path. She initially began teaching English in 1971 but quickly discovered her true calling when she associated with Vidya Bharati, a major educational organization focused on indigenous values. For over 25 years, Indumati Katdare served as a core full-time worker for the movement, where she pioneered the pathbreaking Shishu Vatika preschool system nationwide and heavily promoted the critical role of parents as a child's first teachers. Respected for her deep intellect and graceful eloquence, she went on to serve as the Kulapati (Chancellor) of the Punarutthan Vidyapeeth based in Ahmedabad, continuing her tireless, lifelong mission to decolonise and reconstruct the Indian education system.
